Rules

2-5 player teams, 5 teams per division/field, teams play all day Saturday, and the best two teams from each division advance to the next round on Sunday for one-game elimination.

  1. No Base Running
  2. No more than 3 players on the field at one time.
  3. Any teams playing with more than 3 players can bat 4-5 players. The number of players batting each game must remain constant for the entire game. All fielders must bat. If you play the field, you must bat.
  4. Teams can consist of 1 to 5 players
  5. No designated hitters or pinch hitters allowed.
  6. Object strike zone for balls and strikes. Object strike zone is approx. 28" high x 20" wide and 16" from the ground.
  7. Any combination of two object strikes and/or foul balls is an out.
  8. A swing and a miss is an out.
  9. Six balls is a walk.
  10. 3 outs per side.
  11. Pitch speed is medium. No blazers but hard strikes are fine. Radar guns are used.
  12. A line will be drawn at designated spots to denote singles and doubles.
  13. When determining foul balls, standard baseball rules apply.
  14. When determining doubles, triples and home runs the rule is "it's where the ball lands" (Distance wise)
  15. Triples are off the wall.
  16. Home runs are over the fence.
  17. Runs do not need to be forced in; imaginary runner advances per base as hitter does (i.e. Man on second, batter strokes a double, runner scores.)
  18. Each game is six innings long.
  19. If the game is tied, the eighth inning begins with the bases loaded for both teams.
  20. A grounder fielded cleanly before the singles line is an out. Cleanly is defined as "without bobble".
  21. A fly ball can be bobbled and still be an out as long as the ball does not reach the ground.
  22. Double plays are when fly balls are caught and then thrown to hit the object strike zone in one motion, even if there is no one on base.
  23. A hit batter does not take his base.
  24. A pitcher will pitch from a designated mound.
  25. Fielders are positioned as they wish on playing field in fair territory without obstructing the batter.
  26. Home runs are approximately 75-80 feet away. Pitchers mound is 40.5 feet away from the front of the plate. Object strike zone is 3 feet behind the front of the plate.
  27. The width of the field is approx. 60 feet from right field foul pole to the left field foul pole.
  28. Loaded bats and balls are illegal. No scraping, mangling or altering the balls/bats.
  29. Standard WIFFLE balls and bats will be provided. Do NOT bring your own equipment.
  30. Baseball gloves are illegal.
  31. A pitcher must finish pitching to any batter he starts pitching to.
  32. A pitcher cannot throw just one particular ball, he must use as many as are made available.
  33. To be considered a hit, a.) a ground ball must reach the pitcher's mound. The pitcher may take only one step forward to the ball to field it, but may take as many steps as needed side to side. b.) A pop up is a hit if the ball touches any player in fair territory. The pitcher is allowed as many steps necessary to catch a fly ball.
  34. After divisional play is over, the two best teams from each division will advance into the 32-team championship on Sunday.
  35. "Ten Run Rule" is in effect.
  36. After the 4th inning is complete In the unlikely event of a forfeit by the first or second team, the next best available team from that division will advance to championship play.
  37. No alcohol is permitted to be brought in - only alcohol for sale is allowed. If it isn't for sale, we don't have the license - which means NO ALCOHOL.
  38. These games are for fun and enjoyment; disputes will be decided by the tournament umpires and/or staff. Anyone arguing with the umpire or staff member will forfeit the game.
  39. Coolers and grills are prohibited. Refreshments will be available for purchase. No exceptions!
  40. All teams must report to field at 10:00am to begin festivities or will be subject to forfeit. Check in time begins at 9:00am Saturday morning.
  41. NO DOGS ALLOWED! YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY IF YOU DO! NO DOGS LEFT IN CARS EITHER!
